Pet Grief and Loss

Velvet

As a volunteer foster for cats and kittens, and as someone who has had pet cats for most of my life, I know the pain of losing a pet.  Our pets are cherished companions who offer us unconditional love, and as most pet owners would agree, our pets are family.

Unfortunately though, our society may minimize the death or illness of a pet and leave grievers feeling there is not space to share their feelings.  Pet grief and loss is an area of specialized interest for me, bringing together my passion for animal welfare and advocacy with psychology and therapy.  You can trust that your pain will be heard and acknowledged and sessions will focus on giving you space to share your story, explore ways of rebuilding routines and finding joy again after the loss of your pet, and discover ways to celebrate the memory of your pet moving forward.
